Sergio Perez in Racing Point set the highest top speed in the first 2019 F1 qualifying season in Australia while Mercedes dominated in all three sections of the Albert Park circuit – let’s have look at who set the highest speed on the which part of the track and who was strong in which sector.

Perez in the Racing Point RP19 achieved the highest 322.5 km/h on the start finish line, which was only 0.1 km/h faster than Giovinazzi in Alfa Romeo while Toro Rosso Honda drivers took third and fourth place in that speed detection point.

The difference between the fastest Perez and the slowest Kubica was 7.9 km/h while third placed from qualifying Vettel was the second slowest for Ferrari.

Mercedes set the two best times in each of the three sectors in Melbourne and Hamilton was faster than Bottas in the first and third sectors. Finn was faster in the second sector with greater advantage than Hamilton had in the first and third sectors.

Vettel lost most of the time in the first and third sectors, around three tenths of a second, and lost about a tenth to Mercedes drivers in the longest third sector .

Grosjean was the fastest in the first and second sectors from the drivers outside the top three teams whileMagnussen was fastest in the third sector, three miliseconds ahead of Grosjean.
