Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc set the highest speeds on all four speed measurements on the Shanghai International Circuit track, while the fastest Mercedes car set speeds in the middle of the top speed table.

Vettel is fastest in speed measurement at Turn 14 with 327.1 km/h , exactly 1km/h ahead of Leclerc, while Bottas as a faster Mercedes was 5.1km/h slower in seventh place. Faster than Bottas were Ricciardo in Renault, Magnussen in Haas, Kvyat in Toro Rosso Honda and Perez in Racing Point.
Vettel and Leclerc were again the first two in the speed trap on the start finish straight and Raikkonen ranked third in Alfa Romeo to ensure that the Ferrari engine occupies the top three positions.
Ferrari is fastest and at the end of the first sector, after a Turn 6, with Leclerc reaching 288.2 km/h and Raikkonen was faster than Vettel with about 1 km/h less.
Vettel and Leclerc took the first two places at the end of the second sector, ahead of a sharp left corner, and Hamilton and Bottas were 1.6 km/h slower for Mercedes.
