The FIA has announced several minor changes to the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari track in Imola and the correction of the detection and activation points of the only DRS zone that should make it easier for drivers to overtake compared to last year.
The changes relate to the new asphalt entering the box, the yellow stop behind the top of turn number 13, the extended yellow stop behind the top of turn number 14 which is now a continuous curb, and most of the side roads around the track got new asphalt, including areas behind gravel zone.
The track still has one DRS zone, but the FIA has changed activation and detection points for 2021 to facilitate overtaking that is extremely difficult on this track.
This year’s detection point is 20 meters before turn number 17 (Rivazza 1), and last year it was 40 meters behind turn number 18 (Rivazza 2).
This year’s activation point is located 60 meters before turn 19, and last year it was at the start-finish line.
