Lance Stroll set the highest top speed this season of 343.9 km/h, which he achieved in the race with the help of DRS and slipstream, while the drivers of Haas and Alfa Romeo were the fastest in the qualifying.
Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya is a track where teams use almost the highest levels of downforce that their cars can produce, so it is no surprise that cars with less downforce are at the top of the top speed scale on the main straight.
Drivers of Haas and Alfa Romeo took the first four positions with speeds from 323.1 to 324.2 km/h, and Hamilton and Verstappen, who took the first two places in the qualifying, are in 12th and 18th place.
The slowest were AlphaTauri drivers Gasly and Tsunoda who were more than 10 km/h slower than drivers from Haas and Alfa Romeo.

TOP SPEEDS – QUALIFYING
In the race, the speeds are traditionally higher than in the qualifying as the cars drive one behind the other which gives them plenty of opportunities to catch a good slipstream that dramatically increases speed on the straight – Stroll and Vettel at Aston Martin set fastest two top speeds this season.
Leclerc is an example of a driver who spent most of the race alone, without the opportunity to use the DRS and slipstream from other cars, so his top speed is lower than in qualifying.
