Alfa Romeo is the last team to show the final look of the car they will compete in the new Formula 1 season after using camouflage livery in the first pre-season test in Barcelona, as they completed the filming day with new livery.
The team was the only one to schedule the presentation of the car after the first pre-season test, but we first had the opportunity to see the new C42 in spy photos of a private test in Fiorano where the new car did the first kilometers with camouflage design.
With the same design, Alfa completed the first pre-season test, but today they also showed what their C42 will look like, which, like its predecessor, is predominantly red and white with several new sponsors.
This year, the team changed the driving lineup consisting of Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes and the first Chinese driver in Formula 1 Guanyu Zhou, third in Formula 2 last season, while test and development driver is still veteran Robert Kubica.
Alfa Romeo had a problematic start to the new season with just 175 laps in three days of testing in Barcelona which is only 39.86% of the laps driven by Ferrari, the team with the most laps in the first test.
But regardless of the reliability issues, the team is confident it can solve the problems ahead of the second three-day test to be held from March 10-12 in Bahrain where the first race of the season will be held (March 18 – 20).
