Alfa Romeo Racing has unveiled their new F1 car for 2021 called the C41 and with which the team hopes to improve on last year’s ranking in the constructors ’standings – the car was unveiled in Warsaw, the Polish capital, because of main sponsor PKN Orlen.
The new C41 uses the chassis of last year’s C39, as well as the gearbox, most of the rear suspension and components like the radiator, but got a new nose on which they decided to spend their two development tokens.
A lot of attention has been paid to the development of aerodynamics, especially in the area behind the front wheels, and the sidepod concept and the shape of the intake above the driver’s head is similar to last year’s car.
The Alfa Romeo team kept the same line-up as last season, consisting of Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi, and the test and reserve driver is still Robert Kubica, who brought the sponsor PKN Orlen to the team, which is why the car was presented in Poland.
The team has announced updates to the car ahead of the start of the new season in Bahrain, and they hope that improvements to the car and a stronger Ferrari engine will help them surpass last year’s result when they finished eighth in the constructors ’standings.
Raikkonen and Giovinazzi failed to finish in a better position in the race than ninth last year while Kubica got five appearances in the first free practice.
