Aston Martin became the third team to complete the presentation of the new F1 car for 2022, but the first to show the real car it will compete with in the new season, ahead of the first track test it will do on Friday..

The new Aston Martin AMR22 has a new visual identity after breaking off cooperation with sponsor BWT and replacing the pink elements with light green, along with the logos of the new title sponsor Aramco.

After Haas showed only digital renderings of its car, and Red Bull only a prototype that Formula 1 showed last year in their racing colors for 2022, Aston Martin was the first to show the real car with which it will be on the track for the first time on Friday.

The team retained the same driving lineup of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll, and was left by longtime team boss Otmar Szafnauer to be replaced by former BMW motorsport boss Mike Krack.

“We continue our journey to the top of Formula 1, the most prestigious racing series in the world we want to win,” team owner Lawrence Stroll said at the unveiling of the new car.

“But we know winning is not easy. That’s why we have a five-year plan to climb to the top.”

“To win Formula One, everything has to be in the right place and everything has to match. The sport is constantly evolving, and if you can’t keep up, you’re falling behind.”

Aston Martin will do the first test of the new AMR22 tomorrow by using the first of two days to record promotional materials during which they are allowed to cover a maximum of 100 km, and the first pre-season test lasts from 23 to 25 February.
