MAXF1 brings you an overview of maximum speeds in the 2018 Chinese GP and best sector times – Raikkonen was fastest with almost 344 km/h in his Ferrari SF71H, but Hamilton was surprisingly slowest with only 320 km/h in his Mercedes W09.
Kimi Raikkonen recorded the maximum speed at the 2018 Chinese GP near the end of the backstraight with 344.8 km/h, which is not unusual because Ferrari SF71H is fastest on speed traps in 2018 F1 season.
But the fact that Lewis Hamilton was slowest with only 320.4 km/h was definitely a surprise and highlights that Lewis probably didn’t have the oportunity to use DRS in the second part of the race when the cars are lightest and fastest.
MAXIMUM SECTOR SPEEDS
Verstappen and Ricciardo set the two fastest laps of the race for Red Bull and they were fastest on all parts of the track – Verstappen was fastest in sectors 1 and 3 while Ricciardo was fastest in the middle sector.
If both drivers drove ideal laps with their best sector times, Ricciardo would still be the fastest but Verstappen would be closer.
