Ferrari unveiled its F1 team and drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz ahead of the start of the new 2021 F1 season in which they are determined to bounce back after a disappointing last season they finished in sixth and the new SF21 will be unvelied on March 10.
After six years, Ferrari did not extend cooperation with Sebastian Vettel and brought Sainz (26) from McLaren, who with Leclerc (23) will form the youngest Ferrari driver line-up in Formula 1 since 1968 with Chris Amon (25) and Jacky Ickx (23).
Sainz and Leclerc have already completed the first kilometers of this season in Ferrari’s 2018 F1 car SF71H on Fiorano at the end of January, which were also Sainz’s first laps for Ferrari, and they will have the opportunity to test the new SF21 in pre-season testing in Bahrain (12-14 March) or during the filming day.
Ferrari has prepared a brand new power unit for 2021 that should be significantly more powerful than last season when they had the weakest power unit in Formula 1 and they spent their two development tokens on the rear end to improve airflow over the diffuser.

After the first test for Ferrari on January 27 on the Fiorano circuit Sainz was thrilled to experience driving their F1 car for the first time and says he will do his best to achieve the best possible results.
“When I was ten years old, I went to Barcelona and I was lucky enough to meet one of my greatest heroes, Michael Schumacher, and visit the Ferrari garage. The atmosphere there was simply special, there is nothing like it. Therefore, I guess the easiest way to describe what joining Scuderia Ferrari means to me is a childhood dream come true!”, said Sainz after his first Ferrari test.
“However, the way I see it, to put on the red race suit and drive for this team is much more than just a dream. As a racing driver, it’s a great honour and a big responsibility that I really look forward to experiencing and embracing.”
“Since the very first day I started racing I only had two targets in mind: to become a Formula 1 Grand Prix driver and to win the World Championship. After achieving the first one, all my focus and efforts are invested in trying to achieve the second target and there is no better place than Ferrari to go for it.”
“The ambition is to help create a winning team, bring the Scuderia back to the very top where it belongs and win the World Championship.”
