Ferrari announced today that it will unveil its new F1 car for 2022  exactly one month from today after they announced last month that it will unveil it in mid-February.

The Italian team is the second team to specify a launch date after Aston Martin, which will unveil its new AMR22 on February 10, and Ferrari will do the same seven days later, on February 17.

Ferrari has not yet announced the name for the new car, with which it will try to return to the fight for victories and championship titles, and the opportunity for that could provide them with new technical rules.

After a disappointing 2020, Ferrari improved significantly in 2021 and had on average the third fastest car, and after a big fight with McLaren they managed to finish third in the standings thanks to a great finish to the season.

The new rules provide an opportunity to change the balance of power between teams after Mercedes and Red Bull dominated last season, but with the new rules no one is sure how competitive they will be compared to their rivals.

Although Ferrari brought improved versions of the hybrid powertrain elements last season, they were planned for 2022 anyway, so development for the new season was not compromised at any point.

The driving lineup for 2022 remains the same with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, and the Spaniard should get a contract extension after an impressive first season at Ferrari.

Pre-season testing starts on February 23 in Barcelona and will last for three days, followed by a second test of also three days (March 10-12) in Bahrain where the first race of the new season will take place.
