Mugello will have one DRS zone on the 1141 m long main straight, FIA confirmed before the first ever F1 race on the track, which will be called the Tuscan GP, as well as the points that divide the track into three sectors and speed trap location.
The detection point of the only DRS zone is located at the beginning of the last turn Bucina and activation begins 290 meters after the last corner.
Drivers in free practice and qualifying may use the DRS in that zone at any time, and in a race the usual rule applies as it can be activated if the driver is less than a second behind the driver in front of him.
The DRS must not be used in the first two laps of the race or in special conditions such as rain, until the race control approves its use.
The speed trap is located 390 meters before the first turn, and the FIA will, as before, measure the speed at the end of each of the three sectors.
The first sector ends before the sixth corner, the second sector ends between the 11th and 12th corners and the third sector consists of only four turns.
