Haas has finally fired up its new F1 car for 2021 VF-21 before the start of pre-season testing in Bahrain, and today they are using the filming day on the same track to prepare for the first official test.

The American team is the only one that did not show their new F1 car for this season, but showed new colors and a new main sponsor, Uralkali, on last year’s VF-20 car.

Although both Ferrari and Alfa Romeo have long since started the engines in their 2021 cars, Haas could not do so because Ferrari’s engineers for the power unit could not travel to the UK due to the COVID-19 restriction.

Haas therefore left the first fire up of the new car for Bahrain, and today they are driving the first kilometers in the new car, the day before the start of pre-season testing, in which they are allowed to cover a maximum of 100 kilometers on special Pirelli tyres for demonstration purposes.

The team has also announced a schedule for pre-season testing as Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will split the time in the car over all three days. Schumacher will drive in the first part of the first and third days and in the second part of the second day while Mazepin will drive in the first part of the second and second part of the first and third days of testing.
