The Rich Energy Haas F1 Team introduced their new visual identity and F1 car VF-19 for the 2019 F1 season, dominated by black and gold colors in line with the colours of their new sponsor Rich Energy.

Haas used the 2018 F1 car in London to show new colours for 2019, but also released the first photos of their new F1 car for 2019, the VF-19.

The largest visual change is simplified, 200 mm wider and 20 mm higher front wing, which no longer has a complex structure for vortex generation at its edges and which can have maximum five elements, and the rear wing is 100 mm wider and 20 mm higher than in 2018.

The bargeboards and vanes behind the front wheels according to the new rules are lower and the aerodynamic devices around the brake ducts are now minimized.

“This is the time of the season when you hope you’ve got designs right and you can be competitive straight away,” said Gene Haas.

“The new car looks distinctive, not only in terms of its color scheme, but also with the new regulations in play. Hopefully those design changes brought in for 2019 will improve the racing on-track, and more importantly give us a shot at making more of an impact at each grand prix.”

Team principal Gunther Steiner stresses how important is for his team to continue developing and trying to improve on their 2018 F1 form when they finished fifth in the constructors’ championship.

“It’s important that we keep progressing as a team, and this season is no different,” said team principal Gunther Steiner.

“While 2018 delivered our best season to-date, the year showed, sometimes sharply, that we still have areas to improve on as a team.”
