Kubica completes first F1 test after six years

Robert Kubica finished his first F1 test after a rally accident in February 2011 in the Lotus E20 of 2012. Painted in the current Renault colors, he completed 115 laps on the course in Valencia.

Pole used a chassis with which Kimi Raikkonen won the 2012 Abu Dhabi GP, and the test included high fuel runs, qualification simulations and practice starts.

British Autosport reports that there is a possibility of further tests.

“Why were we silent? It was a private test for Robert,” says Renault’s Twitter.

“But we can tell you this – Robert complained about grip, understeer, downforce and had the biggest smile after 115 laps.”
