Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has confirmed he was positively tested for COVID-19 making him the fifth current F1 driver to be infected with the coronavirus, both the driver and team confirmed via social media.
Leclerc confirmed on his Instagram and Twitter that he received a positive test on COVID-19 and that he is currently in self-isolation at his home in Monaco.
“Hello people, I hope you are all safe. I want to tell you that I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Leclerc wrote.
“I was tested regularly according to my team’s protocols. Unfortunately, I found out I was in contact with a positive case and I immediately went into self-isolation and informed everyone I had contact with.”
“I feel well and have mild symptoms. I remain in isolation at my home in Monaco according to the rules set by the local authorities.”
