The McLaren team has signed a new sponsor ahead of the start of the new season of Formula 1, which is the company of Dell Technologies, the largest privately-owned technology company.
Dell Technologies, which consists of seven global brands – Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, Secureworks, Virtustream and VMware – will bring technology expertise to McLaren Technology Group, McLaren Racing, McLaren Applied Technologies, and McLaren’s Esports program, World’s Fastest Gamer .
This partnership with McLaren will help in day-to-day operations, including support for design and production, track operations, telemetry, data storage, export and simulation, engaging fans, and guest experience.
McLaren and Dell Technologies will collaborate on future projects in the field of security, cloud, digital and transformation technologies with an emphasis on technical innovations.
“McLaren’s agreement with Dell Technologies is broader than traditional sponsorship, we are organizations that share the key principles of technical innovation and human progress,” McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown said.
“This announcement is a further confirmation that McLaren has strong ambitions as we strive to make an important step forward in track and track performance.”
“Dell Technologies is a perfect partner and our brands share the same principles that will help us achieve our business goals in 2018 and later.”
After three years with Honda in 2018, McLaren will use Renault’s power units, and with Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne, they hope to return to regular points scorers or even podium conteders.
McLaren’s last podium was in 2014 Australian GP while they last victory was in 2012 Brazilian GP.
