Lando Norris has announced that he is positive for COVID-19 coronavirus disease and is currently in a two-week self-isolation in Abu Dhabi ahead of preparations for the new 2021 F1 season.
Norris announced on his social media profiles that he lost his sense of taste and smell yesterday and that he immediately isolated and tested himself and today he shared the news with his followers.
“I hope you’re all fine,” Norris said.
“Yesterday I felt a loss of taste and smell and I immediately isolated and tested myself.”
“The test was positive and I reported it to everyone I was in contact with and now I will be in self-isolation for 14 days.”
Norris is in Abu Dhabi where he went on holiday ahead of preparations for a new season in which his team-mate will be Daniel Ricciardo after Carlos Sainz signed for Ferrari.
“McLaren can confirm that Lando Norris was positively tested yesterday at COVID-19 in Dubai where it is currently on holiday ahead of a planned training camp,” McLaren said.
“According to local rules, he’s in a hotel where he’ll be in isolation for 14 days.”
“He feels good and has no other symptoms.”
