A day after presenting its 2023 F1 car, Mercedes did the first test with the new F1 W14 at Silverstone, where they were greeted by changing conditions, as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell were both present at the test.

Mercedes presented the new car in a completely black livery in order to save as much weight as possible and thus return to the look they had in 2020 and 2021 while today they did the first laps at Silverstone as part of the filming day.

In such a test, a maximum of 100 kilometers can be driven on special Pirelli tyres, but apart from filming promotional materials, teams always use that test for other purposes, such as in this case the first testing of a new car.

This will allow them to arrive at the pre-season testing in Bahrain (February 23 – 25) more prepared and eliminate possible shortcomings, since the tests last only three days and the first race of the season is only a week after.
