World champions fired up their new car for the first time at their factory in Brackley, three weeks before the planned roll out at Silverstone.
Mercedes will introduce new W08 at Silverstone on February 23, four days before the start of pre-season testing in Barcelona, during a 100 km filming shake up on Pirelli demonstration tyres.
Triple world champions will, like last year, take the advantage of the filming day in order to try out a new car before the start of pre-season testing and solve potential problems before February 27.

New cars will be a few seconds per lap faster, thanks to wider tires and the new aerodynamic package, and given the already impressive speed last year’s car it means that in dry conditions new cars will break lap records on all circuits, including tight Monaco.
Mercedes will have a new driver line-up in 2017. with triple world champion Lewis Hamilton and Finn Valtteri Bottas, who came from Williams after the reigning world champion Nico Rosberg surprisingly retired from the sport.
Apart from Rosberg, technical director Paddy Lowe also left the team after arriving in Mercedes in 2013. and winning world titles between 2014 and 2016.
