The current world champions have published a photo revealing what the new F1 car for 2021 will look like, which they will present on Tuesday, while keeping the predominantly black color as seen on last year’s F1 W11.
Mercedes unveiled its traditional silver car last year complemented by a turquoise stripe representing main sponsor and supplier of oil and lubricants Petronas, but ahead of the start of the season Mercedes changed the color to predominantly black to give its support to the fight against racism.
The new F1 W12, with which Mercedes is aiming for its eighth consecutive drivers’ and constructors’ title, will also be predominantly black, but the black towards the rear end is gradually turning silver alongside the white fin that splits the engine cover.
The front part of the intake above the driver’s head is red due to the sponsor and co-owner of the team INEOS and Mercedes showed the look of the new car without a single sponsor.
In addition to Mercedes, Alpine will also present their new F1 car for 2021 on Tuesday, confirming that there will be no double world champion Fernando Alonso at the presentation.
