The current world champions have shown the first studio photos of their new Mercedes F1 W11 with which they want to win a record seventh consecutive double championship title ahead of the first Silverstone test scheduled today.
Mercedes will test the new F1 W11 for the first time today as part of its first day for shooting promotional material for a maximum of 100 kilometers, shared by Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton.
The new F1 W11 has a Ferrari sidepod concept started in 2017 with very high and narrow inlets while the sidepods themselves are incredibly compact and drop off very early, enabling more airflow to travel to the rear end.
This is possible thanks to an even better cooling system that allows more aggressive integration of the power unit and gearbox components, and with the new car Mercedes again sets standards in this area that is crucial for aerodynamic efficiency.
The new F1 W11 will be the first tested by Bottas, followed by the current world champion Hamilton, who is aiming for a seventh world title this year to equalize Michael Schumacher’s all-time record.
