McLaren Honda F1 team has announced that its new 2017. car successfully passed the FIA crash tests before the start of the new season.
New cars for 2017. will be significantly faster thanks to wider Pirelli tyres and the new aerodynamic package and teams announce that their cars have passed crash tests as we approach the start of pre-season testing which starts of February 27th.
So far, Force India, Toro Rosso and Haas announced that their new cars successfully passed all FIA safety tests and McLaren Honda is the latest team to announce that milestone.
“After a lot of hard work, I want to thank everyone who helped us to pass the FIA’s safety tests. Now to get it painted!”, said the McLaren racing director Eric Boullier on McLaren Honda’s Twitter account.
McLaren has already announced that it will launch its new car on February 24, the same day as their biggest rival and the most successful Formula 1 team Ferrari.
New McLaren CEO Zak Brown has already praised the progress made by McLaren and Honda with their new car that should get them closer to top teams after the previous two seasons when they finished sixth (2016.) and ninth (2015.).
