Romain Grosjean set the fastest morning time of the first day of the Bahrain F1 test at which Mick Schumacher had his first appearance for Ferrari and was faster than Fernando Alonso who returned to the F1 car for the first time after the 2018 Abu Dhabi GP.

In Bahrain, about an hour after the start of the test, the rain came down on the track and when it was stopped, an even greater downpour began.

Grosjean held the best time before the rain, 1:30.982, and Schumacher had 33 laps in the bag before the rain started and finished the eight fastest, 1.5 s behind Grosjean.
