Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo drove the first laps in McLaren’s new 2021 F1 car at rainy Silverstone, a day after the Woking team unveiled the MCL35M with a Mercedes engine.

McLaren is the first team to unveil its new F1 car for 2021 MCL35M which will use Mercedes power units for the first time since 2014 in which they hope to defend third place in the constructors' championship.

Tonight, McLaren will become the first team to present their new F1 car for 2021 named MCL35M and thus mark the beginning of the pre-season that will culminate in the start of pre-season testing on March 12 in Bahrain.

The third-placed team of last year’s F1 Championship McLaren has announced the launch date of their new car for 2021 which will be called the MCL35M and which will mark a return to Mercedes engines after seven years.

McLaren has released footage of the first fire-up of the new Mercedes engine in its new MCL35M chassis marking a return to the power units they last used in 2014.
